Heat up Your Passion for Fashion With This Seasons Hottest Styles!
There are loads of fantastic fashions hitting the high street this spring/summer, so there’s no excuse not to look great during the months ahead. Expect to see an eclectic mix of styles, fabrics and colours as this season’s hottest looks are all about enjoying yourself. With everything from florals to multicoloured stripes, and whites to brights on offer, fashion has never been so much fun!
To get you started, here’s some top tips on what’s going to be hot this summer from Angela Poplett, Lakeside’s resident fashion guru...
- Stripes - Whether it’s nautical, preppy, rock star or the 1950’s Riviera look, stripes have hit the big time. I love it all, but my favourite has to be the nautical-inspired styles available from a great selection of retailers from Primark to Principles. If you want to get the look, try wearing a classic fitted jacket over a horizontal stripped top, Capri pants or “sailor” style wide leg trousers. And why not add a scarf, either worn round your neck or just tied onto your bag - it’ll really finish off the look.
- Shorts – last year’s trend for tailored shorts is back with a vengeance! Us girls love this easy to wear item so much it’s fast becoming an essential part of our wardrobes. Wear them with a tailored suit jacket for the office, add heels for a night out, or simply relax in a slim fit denim style for a casual weekend look. There’s a great selection to be found on the high street – try H&M, Top Shop and Warehouse.
- Whites - If winter was all about black, then spring is definitely all about white. Whether it’s a classic shift dress, tailored suit or full-length gown, simply add an accent of black, silver or gold and you’ll easily get it right. Look for classic pieces in Wallis and more “street” fashion in New Look.
