Look Fabulous In A Field

A few years ago, festivals used to be all about embracing your inner grime but then Kate, Sienna and Gwynie turned up backstage at Glastonbury, wafting their fragrant and suspiciously tidy hair around the place and generally making the rest of us look a bit, well, dirty! So, here is my essential guide to becoming a festival poster-girl – perfect for those heading to V this weekend.

Give it some welly…
Come rain or shine, coloured Wellington boots are a festival must-have. Try G4 at Lakeside for a great selection of wellies for just £15.  Topshop's hugely popular over-dyed jet black Baxter jean are great for tucking inside your wellies on a drizzly day and perfect for creating a classic punk rock chick look.

Croc shop…
You may have spotted celebrities such as Vernon Kay and Nicole Appleton wearing the latest trend in footwear– Crocs. These shoes are made from an ultra light resin that softens with body heat so the shoes mould to your feet. Not only trendy and stylish, but also extremely healthy for your feet according to podiatrists –and great for jumping around with 30,000 other people! You can pick up a pair of Crocs at a number of places in Lakeside including Kurt Geiger at House of Fraser, Schuh, Qube and Choice on Brompton Walk.

Kaftan cool…
Take a tip from la Moss and invest in a kaftan to wear as a dress for a glamorous look, or over jeans if the heavens open. Debenhams has a fab range of kaftans with kaleidoscope prints. Try wearing your kaftan with a loose belt slung around your waist to create more of a silhouette.
It’s all about accessories…
Finally, never leave home, or your tent, without some bangles and beads. They'll make you stand out and help your shabby surroundings feel a little more chic!
