Essential Festival Fashion

It’s official, Brits are now going festival mad, with millions of pounds being spent on kitting us out for festivals. With the emergence of ‘The Glamper’ (glam-campers!) looking good at a festival is just as important as the bands that you see! From outfits and accessories to designer tents, festivals are proving to be the ultimate event for the fashion conscious.  To ensure you pull off the festival Look, Lakeside’s Personal Shopper, Angela Poplett, is here to give her expert tips on becoming festival fabulous.

Hats all round…
With this year’s unpredictable weather, keeping your hair in perfect condition can prove tricky.  Ensure you’re looking chic with a fashionable trilby or even bowler hat, as seen being sported by Kiera Knightley. Try Accesorize at Lakeside for a great selection of hats.  Topshop's hugely popular black trilby is a must-have.

Shorts…
Shorts are the wardrobe staple this summer and a great option for festivals.  There’s a variety of styles on the market so you can pick one that suits you. For the more daring amongst you, New Look has a great selection of really short shorts - perfect for showing off tanned legs. For a more tailored look, shorts in different colours are available from Primark and Zara – ideal for chilling out on the grass when dancing has got the better of you.

Waist not…
A waistcoat can add a modern look to any outfit and can be worn over t-shirts, vest-tops or on their own.  Try Miss Selfridge’s gorgeous denim waistcoat, or H&M at Lakeside has a great beige lined one, a snip at just £14.99. Teamed with a pair of shorts, you’ll have yourself a look to make any band member jealous!

Accessorise, accessorise, accessorise…
Finally, never leave home, or your tent, without some bangles, beads and oversized sunglasses. Sunglass Hut at Lakeside has just had a new makeover and has some fab options for all from many top designers. They'll give you a more individual look and help you stand out in a very large crowd.
